Discover Malta's Indigenous Wines

Meet the Winemakers:

Carmel  Paul Cortis

The wines of Malta remain an undiscovered gem on the international stage and the reason for this is simple, we like to keep it all for ourselves! Maltese wines are rarely exported as most of our produce is consumed domestically, but do not worry, we are here to give you a chance to taste this sought after product by visiting the people responsible for this fine quality's production.

Nestled at the scenic foot of Mdina’s bastions, you’ll find the vineyards belonging to the Cortis brothers, who are among the increasingly rare number of vineyards that still produce wine with Malta's indigenous grapes, the Girgentina, and the Ġellewża making their wine the definition of local! After this we will travel to a small scale natural winery to meet a man making wine in harmony with nature and taste his experimental recipes!

The Cortis brothers talk about the winemaking process in Malta during the vineyard tour
